Bats. Mud, and pools of muddy water. Sweat. Your mate's torchlight flickering before you somewhere (hopefully). Climbing, crawling, squeezing yourself through. Minor attacks of claustrophobia. Major attacks of cold creeping down to your bones. But the sunshine is amazing when you finally get out, and it's the best training your body can get.

(Of course this only applies to non-tourist caves.)

our ancestors are not the cave-men (which is the commomly held view), but a lot of looney idiots, telephone-sanitizers and accountants from a planet which was about to be eaten by an enourmous space goat – as they were made to believe.

my cave is not big and not warm.
my cave’s only got a very small crack for light.
you get hardly out of it and only difficultly in.
most time i stay inside my cave because out there is always a big hurry.
in my cave is not much happening.
but i’m never bored and moreover i’m expecting a visit.
i’m expecting a visit from a beautiful girl.
she’s a bit late but i think something came in between.
because there is happening so much out there.
and i’m waiting only a few days for that girl.
and she promised me she would come.
obviously she couldn’t make it because something came in between.
i love her and she is so beautiful.
certainly she’s got to do because she’s got a lot to do.
and she promised me she would come.
