happy

A wise woman once said: »I prefer being unhappy but thinking than happy and not thinking
I thought about that sentence and wondered, how she meant it. Can someone think and be happy at the same time? I mean, is reality so sad that if you start thinking about it you get sad?
Okay, let's look at all those people around us. Do they think? Don't think so. They keep their brain on the lower flame, never go deep into something and so ... easy easy ... no problems. Hey, not even difficult to be happy.
But is that way the right one?
Did you ever start to think of your life, the world and everything and still had a smile on your face?
In my life I met a lot of people who didn't think too much. They all were kind of surfacely and they had an easy life. »Look at her, she looks strange. I don't like her!« »Oh, did you hear what the politicians said? I'm sure he's right, it's his job!« »Why should I go there? Does it change anything when I'm there?«.
But to be fair, I met a lot of people that were real thinkers. Having a good talk with them always was a great pleasure to me. Sometimes I felt better after it, sometimes not.
But when I'm sitting alone in my room or in the train and I have nothing but my brain to play with... I start thinking. And in 8 of 10 cases I feel really sad after it. Is that just me or is that the world?
Can you think and be happy?
