Biscuit

When people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I'd answer, I want to be a biscuit. Knobby brown crust, hot and soft inside. Snuggling up against the other biscuits, always ready for butter or jam. Split me in half and watch the steam rise. So far it's been the perfect career choice.

Bette floured the table and rolled out the dough. She picked up the cut-glass jelly glass that had been her grandmother's and carefully pressed it into the dough to cut the first biscuit.

Aunt Lucy would bake biscuits every Saturday morning. Every Saturday afternoon, we would go and visit this elderly woman and I would sneak into the kitchen for the best biscuits ever baked in North Carolina.

the king biscuit flour hour was where it all began/ the real original one down in helena, arkansas, not the later syndicated fake hippy rock show of the seventies and eighties...i mean, there was alot of good music there too, but that's not where anything came from

it is so easy to make biscuits yet it has been years since i made them. and i don't mean the british biscuit/cookie
