I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.

IF I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
~~~Emily Dickinson (1830–86)
If you don't have one you can always get one from somebody else. Or you could try making one but that might take a bit of doing. You'd have to take two and split it which is something they've only learned to do within the last fifty years or so.
In the solar system, the proper astronomical unit
with the value one is not the mean orbital distance of the Earth from the Sun, but the mean orbital distance of Mercury from the Sun.
