Some think of pain as color – a blue pain, for example, or a checkered pain.
Some think of it in terms of music – a pain like a trombone, or a piccolo.
And pain in the past tense, recalled, often has an almost academic aura about it.
But pain in the here-and-now, at this very moment – Aiyiyi. It cannot be rationalisec.
my heart wept. the pain was far too great to deal with. so i removed my instruments of destruction from my secret hiding place and went to work. fourteen minutes later, my arm was covered in bright red slashes from the razorblade. and it hurt, it stung like a mother, but it took the invisible pain from inside and put it where i could see it.
