Confusion

Something steps sideways in your brain and falls out of the ear. You hear it drop, but not all the way down. In a quick movement you turn around and catch it, but it's already gone. In fact, it never was there. You were standing in the frozen food isle all the time, your pajamas hanging down from your ankles, thumb in your mouth and you cry for help. They cut the thought from your ear with a chicken, but you can't wake yet.
